1st Topcliffe Cub & Beaver Scouts & 1st Sowerby Cub Scouts take part in Record Breaking Sleepover |
Children of 1st Topcliffe and 1st Sowerby Scout Groups in Sowerby Scout Hut will be taking part in the Giant Sleepover, a record breaking event, on Sat. 19th June 2004. They will be raising money for the Scout group when they spend the night sleeping over along with 20,000 children across the UK.
The children from 1st Topcliffe and 1st Sowerby Scout Groups will participate in an evening of fun packed entertainment including sponsored tasks, midnight feasts, competitions and much more.
Sainsbury's Blue Parrot Cafe, Tomy Rummikib Game, dairy Creast's Lil Moos organic cheese, Aerobeds, Top trumps, and Roald Dahl Games and Capri sun support the event.
The Giant Sleepover will involve simultaneous sleepovers taking place in schools, scout, guide, and youth groups throughout the UK. Children will spend the night sleeping over with friends and raising money for their own PTA's Scout, Guide or Youth Groups. Funds will be raised through a range of sponsored activities undertaken by the children through the night of the event. The event is free to enter and all money raised will go to the schools PTA', Scout, Guide or Youth Groups and over 20,000 children are expected to take part.
