On Saturday 24th September Beavers and Scouts from the Vale of Mowbray, gathered at Thirsk Athletic Club for a 5-a-side Football Tournament. All were bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to play!
The matches took place and the competition began. After a morning of running up and down pitches, rescuing footballs from nettles and hedges, and scoring the odd goal, the competition came to an end, with many tired young people. After the final match for the Beavers, 1st Thirsk Beavers retained the trophy. The final match for the Scouts: Hillside A vs. 1st Thirsk B was long and tough. At full-time, no goals had been scored, the match went to extra time, the tension was high but still no goals could be scored. The match went to penalties and Hillside Scouts managed to shoot and score; Hillside Scouts won the match.
